bakel cool eyes review

Bakel Cool Eyes likes to make promises.

With only 15 ingredients (no preservative, fragrances, or anything like that), it boots to reduce puffy eyes, treat dark circles, improve skin tone, minimise wrinkles, and even act against the effects of gravity.

Can it really deliver all that? Mmm… I’ve put it to the test to find out:

What’s In Bakel Cool Eyes?

COCOA SEED BUTTER TO MOISTURISE SKIN

Cocoa butter is a godsend for dry skin. Rich in fatty acids, like oleic and palmitic, it’s super moisturising. It works by creating a protective barrier on the skin that keeps moisture in, so it stays hydrated and supple for longer.

Plus, it has its fair share of antioxidants, like Vitamin E and polyphenols, to fight off free radicals, the nasty buggers that cause wrinkles.

Like that weren’t enough, there’s some evidence the polyphenols in cocoa butter increase skin tone and elasticity, too! (Mind you, there isn’t enough here to make much of a difference in this department…).

GLYCERIN TO HYDRATE SKIN

You’ll find glycerin in pretty much every skincare product. There’s a reason for that.

Glycerin is a moisture magnet: it draws moisture from the environment into your skin and binds it there. Your skin then uses the extra moisture for all kinds of things.

Moisture plumps up skin, so that fine lines and wrinkles look smaller. Skin becomes softer to the touch. And the whole complexion (or eye area in this case), takes on a dewy glow.

Texture

Lightweight and refreshing.

Fragrance

It’s fragrance-free.

How To Use It

Using the roll-tip applicator, massage a small amount of cream around the eye area and eyelids, from the inside to the outside. Use the applicator to clean up any excess product.

Performance & Personal Opinion

I didn’t get much sleep these last couple of weeks, which meant that I always woke up with very puffy eyes. What better time to try Bakel Cool Eyes?

I gently massaged the cool roll-applicator on my under-eye area until everything is fully absorbed. Afterwards, my eyes looked a bit less puffy – a feat that has more to do with the coolness of the applicator than anything in the cream. You could get the same results with two slices of cucumber. Just saying…

The cream also made my skin softer and smoother. This is where Cool Eyes shines. It’s super moisturising. Plus, the extra moisture plumps up my crow’s feet, so they look less noticeable.

FYI, ANY moisturiser does this. If your under-eyes area is the same skin type as the rest of your face, simply apply your moisturiser all over and call it a day. That’s what I do.

Instead, it did absolutely nothing for my dark circles, nor it did anything to help against the effects of gravity. But then, I didn’t expect it to. Eye cream can’t do this, yet.

One more thing: while I love how refreshing this feels on my skin, I wish it didn’t contain menthol. It can irritate sensitive skin types.

Who Is This For?

If your eye area is drier than the rest of your face, this is a good option to consider.

Who Is This NOT For?

  • It’s not a cure for dark circles
  • If your under-eye area isn’t very dry, you don’t need this

Packaging

The grey tube comes with a metal rollerball applicator that performs a refreshing and soothing massage on the skin. You just click the bottom once, and small droplets of product appear all around the edge of the ball.

But it does release too much product. Every. Single. Time.

Does Bakel Cool Eyes Live Up To Its Claims?

CLAIM TRUE?
COOL EYES is a cream that acts against loss of skin tone and gravity effects.  Nope. It’s just moisturising.
Its 15 clean active ingredients fight bags and dark circles, reduce swelling in the eye contour area, minimise fine wrinkles and improve skin tone and elasticity. They help with puffiness and minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but that’s it.
The skin appears immediately more rested. True.

Do You Need It?

Nope. Unless your under-eye area is considerably drier than the rest of your face, I’d pass on this.
