Finally The Truth, can you share these studies? I often read scientific studies and I have yet to come across conclusive proof that synthetic ingredients, with a few exceptions, are bad for you.

Non-nano particle zinc, with as few inactive ingredients as possible, is the only way to go. Studies strongly suggest anything else may be doing more harm than good. All Good SPF20 unscented lip balm with zinc is the best choice I’ve found (I wish they made a higher SPF lip balm, but they don’t yet—only the “sun stick” which, like other brands’, is dry and stiff and thus too difficult to apply and keep on the lips), and it will not make your lips white, as the zinc content is too low for that.

You could try Vaseline Rosy Lips or Lucas Papaw Ointment. Both are great for chapped lips.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a cheaper alternative that does the trick ?

M, thanks. Sorry that happened to you. Unfortunately, it’s fairly common. Retin A is very strong and can cause such side effects. Have you tried Paula’s Choice Lip & Body Treatment Balm? That usually does the trick for me.

Good post. I am currently using Retin A on my face. But my lips are now so chapped and hurts when I open my mouth. I used to use Ducray lip care. Just wanted to know if you have the same problem when using Retin A ? If so, what product do you use for your lips to heal them quickly ?
Thanks
