Cheng, AHAs and BHA don’t really work in cleansers. But I’d recommend you alternate between the exfoliating toner and retinol at night.

I recently bought a cleanser and a toner, same brand, containing AHA and BHA. Also, i found this anti aging serum with retinol. Can i use the cleanser and the toner + the serum?
Before i even had the idea to do research, i’ve been using it for like 2weeks already. Using the cleanser, then the toner, after that, the serum. So far, there’s no irritation. And also, i always use the cleanser whenever i wash my face. Am i using it too often? It’s like, i use it as a facial wash.

David, the only reason why I don’t recommend using these actives together is the potential for irritation. You get better results by using only the actives you need in moderation than throwing everything at your skin.

Why is this? Do you have a post explaining that? Also, can you mix BHAs and Ascorbic Acid? A serum containing both AHA+BHA and Ascorbic Acid?

Becka, retinol is a retinoid. You can alternate Sunday Riley Retinoid A with Ahas at night. Never use more than one AHA or retinoid product in your routine.

I did some research drunk elephant bha/aha is a better product than the good genes, I did some more digging discovered sundays riley retinoidA+ might be better than the luna sleep. so my question is can I combined the drunk elephant aha/bha with the Sunday riley retinoid A+ at night ? I know you can mix the sunday riley power kit together. I know the Sunday riley power kit will be less money but I honestly want the best effect. Is it true retinoid is better than retinol ? thats why I’m thinking I should switch my good genes to drunk elephant bha/aha & my luna sleep to reniod A+…. another thing I purchased the REN TONER wich also has aha ..is that to much ? I’m combo another product caught my attention Peter thomas retinoid….is that any good wich products will I get more effects from ?
